💞 Sharing & Supporting

Hey friends old and new 👋🏼 2025 has been qu Hey friends old and new 👋🏼

2025 has been quite the adventure so far, with its fair share of hurdles to leap over.

Dealing with life's unexpected twists and a bout of illness slowed things down, but we're bouncing back!
After a much-needed break and some TLC, I'm starting to feel like myself again.

Today, the creative spark returned with a burst of sketches—something totally unexpected! I wasn't planning to dive into a new range of arena flags so soon after Rainbow-Licious launched, but this idea has been brewing, and I'm excited to see where it leads.

Stay tuned for more updates on this colorful journey... can you guess what I'm imagining??

Why do events like the @thebetterbusinessnetwork S Why do events like the @thebetterbusinessnetwork Summit even matter?

...because we live in a world that needs better leaders. Leaders who understand that business isn’t just about profits—it’s about people, the planet, and creating a future where everyone can thrive.

When we talk about sustainability and purpose, it’s not just about cutting emissions. It’s about:
⭐ Paying people fairly.
⭐ Supporting mental health.
⭐ Creating products and services that improve lives.
⭐ Building a world where businesses build a better planet, not degrade it.

This isn’t just a conference—it’s a place to build a legacy of courage over convenience.

That’s why I’ll be exhibiting as part of the @re_action_collective alternative high street—because this is the space for bold ideas, real connections, and action-oriented solutions.

The time for action is now. Be there. Bring your ideas. And let’s create a better business future, together, leading with purpose, not just ambition.

Just finished watching "Buy Now! - The Shopping Co Just finished watching "Buy Now! - The Shopping Conspiracy" on Netflix, and it’s a must-watch.

The documentary brilliantly exposes the harmful cycle that drives overconsumption and environmental degradation. It highlights some hard truths about how corporations operate:

• Sell More: Relentless focus on sales and growth, regardless of the consequences.
• Waste More: Products are designed to fail or become obsolete, creating mountains of waste.
• Lie More: Misleading claims about sustainability, recycling, and eco-friendly practices.
• Hide More: Lack of transparency about where products end up after use.
• Control More: Influencing consumer behaviour to keep the cycle of buying and discarding alive.

The documentary pulls back the curtain on how corporations prioritize growth and sales over accountability for what happens to their products when they’re no longer useful. It challenges the idea that we can just recycle our way out of the problem.

Even as someone working in sustainability, I found myself asking: Am I doing enough? If recycling alone isn’t cutting it - when only 10% of waste gets recycled globally, we need to rethink our entire approach.

So, what can we do?

• Buy less. Challenge yourself with a “no new purchases” month or wait before buying to see if you truly need it.
• Repair more. Join local groups to learn how to fix items and keep them in use longer.
• Demand better. Ask companies tough questions: “What’s the end-of-life plan for this product?” “Do you have a take-back program?”
• Advocate for change. Push for policies that hold corporations accountable for the waste they generate.

For me, it’s shifting the question from “Am I doing enough?” to “What more can I do?”

Let’s challenge ourselves to break free from the overconsumption trap and take meaningful action and keep the conversation going.

What steps are you taking? Let’s share ideas and inspire change.
2nd year at the Warden Abbey Vineyard Christmas Ma 2nd year at the Warden Abbey Vineyard Christmas Market and we had such a great day.

It’s lovely to engage with visitors and show them the amount of materials that are heading to landfill and what can be done with it.

The look of shock and disgust when I share the stories of where the waste comes from and the pride in people’s eyes when they walk off with their new accessory makes me know it’s worth it!

Don’t miss out on grabbing your gifts, still loads availabile and more to be added to my online shop so please do message if you see anything you like x

🌟 Why Sharing Small Business Posts Matters... e 🌟 Why Sharing Small Business Posts Matters... especially today! 🌟

A few months back, I shared a post from my super-talented sister-in-law showcasing her beautiful artwork. Usually, I’d just hit “like” and admire from afar (I can’t draw at all!), but this time, I decided to share it. Within minutes, one of my friends saw it, loved her work, and made a purchase! 🎉

This reminded me just how powerful a share can be. We’ve all worked hard to grow our networks, so why not use them to help others? Even if it’s not something you’d buy yourself, someone in your feed might love it!

Let's support the creators we know and love! ❤️ Every share, every like, every comment can make a world of difference for a small business. So let’s keep the love going—#ShareSmallBusiness posts and help these talented artists reach new customers. They need us now more than ever!

Baffled…. It confuses me immensely when companie Baffled…. It confuses me immensely when companies donate clothing/textiles which are branded but then are absolutely adamant that their brand is not visible or recognisable in any way, like they are embarrassed that they have ‘responsibly’ disposed of the items.

I know that a lot companies waste is often down to over producing, changing brands or trends etc which creates excess waste with no thought to the impact on the environment or thought to where these items will be disposed but when a business actively seeks out an alternative way to donate or save the items from going to landfill surely that’s something we should be encouraging and shouting from the rooftops.

NOTE - I’m also aware that this subject is a lot bigger than my baffle and a lot of the issues begin with manufacturing, nothing is as simple as it seems and we shouldn’t be encouraging any business of any size to just dump their products onto someone else and wipe their hands of it 💕

So anyway… in line with ‘current’ guidelines I recently came into possession of a hat, a cap to be precise. There are a lot of these from a certain unnamed company and I took one to see what I could do to re-brand/patch it so it could be repurposed and this is what I did. One of one for the time being and we shall see if more appear

I hope that one day these waste piles of brand new products will be less but also that companies with excess will stand tall and be accountable about their overproduction and allow us to share who they are instead of lurking in the shadows.

Working as a freelancer and a solo businesswoman r Working as a freelancer and a solo businesswoman running my own company is super exciting but also really tough and challenging but at the end of 2022 something changed and I was approached by the still emerging @re_action_collective finding their feet but with a goal to bring together like-minded individuals/businesses/CIC’s & charities to challenge product marketing - the twisted advertising that tells us we need everything to be shiny and new. Instead they want to change peoples mindsets and encourage reuse, repair and recycling saving overproduced products and textiles from heading straight to landfill.

Two years on from my own involvement the collective has grown rapidly and now includes almost 40 separate organisations all bringing their own experiences, knowledge and skills from across the globe. Many of us have had opportunity to collaborate on various projects but this weekend was the first Reaction Collective weekender and it was EPIC!!

We met each other face to face, discussed ideas, held workshops, viewed a fantastic film, walked, talked, created, ate amazing food and shared skills and inspiring stories all in the beautiful setting of the Peak District.

Summer is always chaotically hectic for @littlerecreationsuk - with Festivals, Weddings and Corporate Events back to back in the diary so I had doubts right up to the week before leaving that I would even make it to this special event, but WOW how grateful I am that I made it!!!!

Thank you tribe, you bring me joy and i am humbled to be part of such an inspirational collection of demonstrators
